Our Baby Bumpkin programme uses the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum as its basis.  Sessions focus on the well being of you and your baby.

The classes are a 3-in-1 – combining storytelling, music and simple baby yoga movements with the fun Baby Bumpkin demonstration doll (we like to call him Charlie!) , and give all the babies from 10 weeks to pre crawling a great physical foundation to development.  We include a few warm up stretches for adults too but predominantly classes are aimed at little ones.

For our Baby Bumpkin Explorers (shufflers, crawlers/wobbly and early toddlers), we work on using fine and gross motor skills, balance and co-ordination, buidling strength in little ones core with activities better suited to confident sitting/ crawling and exploring toddlers.

During the sessions we focus on:

  • Physical Development: Tummy time, side lying, sitting and standing postures as appropriate for your baby.
  • Early fine motor skills: Whatever stage your baby has reached, the movements and props help to encourage hand and finger movements which are the basis for more complex skills.
  • Emotional Development: Throughout the class the babies are encouraged to respond to each other. Massage and relaxation help to calm and promote a healthy sleep / waking cycle for your baby.
  • Cognitive Development: Emerging language skills are nurtured through movement, exploration of sensory props and gestures.

But most of all it’s about having fun with your baby.

Classes are held in pre-schools, nurseries, and private classes and sometimes in people’s homes. Baby Bumpkin is a very relaxed, informal way to have fun with your baby, whilst at the same time really helping with their physical and emotional development.

All our Baby Bumpkin teachers are fully qualified and CACHE accredited.

The classes can help aid digestion and other physical issues.

*Please note that you do not have to be using the Little Green Rascals nursery in order to attend the Thursday classes *

Reviews from some of our recent attending parents ( Aug 2019)

We started Tatty Bumpkin with Clare when my baby boy was about 7 weeks old.
The classes are stimulating and fun, but also relaxing and engaging.
Clare has a very calming sense about her and is so warming and friendly!
Baby Bumpkin is the only class that I have felt my son feels settled in. He knows where he is and always has a smile for Clare!
Not only that but my daughter who has complex additional needs (11 years) has been attending for the past couple of weeks. Clare has made her feel most welcome. Allowing my daughter to join in. To be honest I have never seen my daughter so relaxed and at ease. Thank you Clare xxx

I’ve loved this class. We started when my little boy was 12 weeks old, he’s now 14 months and we’re both very sad that we have to finish. It’s good fun for the parents and babies and he’s learned so much there. Definitely one of our favourite groups/classes we’ve attended, would 100% recommend.

I attended Clare’s class at Acomb Yoga Studio with my little girl Evie. We really enjoyed the classes – it’s a lovely mix of yoga, sensory, storytelling and music. Evie has loved her time at the classes and it’s been a really special time together. We had a great group of mums and babies and it’s been lovely seeing them all interact and grow together. I’d definitely recommend this class.
