Rainbow Programme in Nurseries
Our Rainbow Programme is run in 6 or 7 week terms aligned with the academic year. It is progressive and adapted to the children’s ages and abilities. Within each colour of the rainbow (half term) we work on specific developmental goals. The sessions are fully inclusive and non-competitive.
Each week we follow Tatty Bumpkin on her exciting adventures, meeting new friends, solving problems and learning new skills. We focus on a different pose of the week, multi-sensory activities and mindfulness exercises to support self-regulation, feelings of calm and relaxation.
We work in many nurseries in the East Hampshire area to provide our weekly programme for children from 0 – 5 years. The sessions are fully aligned to the EYFS curriculum, linking to the characteristics of effective learning and the prime and specific areas of learning. Our teachers are specially trained to deliver the programme. They observe children in the sessions to ensure that the sessions are aimed at the correct stages for their development. This means that we can deepen and strengthen their current learning and development and, where appropriate, identify opportunities to challenge and extend that learning.
You can rest assured all our Tatty Bumpkin teachers are fully qualified, CACHE accredited, first aid trained, DBS registered and insured.

Supporting Material for Nurseries
Our yoga inspired stories are presented in seven week blocks to coincide with academic terms. Each block corresponds to a colour of the rainbow. Alongside each story we have created a range of supporting material.
1. ‘What I Did in Class Today’ – for parents
These detailed sheets give guidance to parents and carers on how to do ‘the pose of the week’ at home with their child. Each sheet is written by our specialist paediatric physiotherapist. They provide clear instructions on how to develop the weekly pose and explain how it helps the child’s development. This is great for enhancing your parent-nursery partnership.
2. EYFS and Key Stage Curriculum Links – for staff
Each weekly story is carefully linked to every area of the curriculum. These documents provide clear evidence on how session content works to enhance and encourage the broad scope of a child’s development and learning. Physical, social and emotional and communication needs are all supported.
3. Colouring sheets and stickers – for children
We provide bespoke weekly colouring sheets to partner every story. These can be used in the nursery after the class to continue the learning opportunities. Alternatively, they can be sent home to help parents and carers to engage with what the children have been doing.
Who doesn’t love a sticker?!
4. Certificates – for everyone!
Our colourful termly certificates remind the children of their exciting adventures and the poses they have learned.
